Agate Beads
This gemstone (variety of quartz) has many colors: blue, transparent, white, yellow, black (onyx), orange (cornaline), green (tree), moss, striped.
Look at the pictures for samples.
Black onyx, natural drop and the "moss flower" are beads. The others are only stone samples. It is easy to find them in any bead shapes and sizes.

First row: fossil, flame, black .

Second row: tree, eye,and montana.
Each type as its own magical properties but they are all connecting us to earth, to its strength and beauty.
This picture shows a natural agate: it has very beautiful shades of light grey.

Want to design earrings with agate beads?
We choose for this design transparent, light grey teardrops and we matched them with gold glass, resin and crystal swarovski tiny bicones .
The blue-green resin , the crystals (blue zircon and opal) add some brightness to the design.They are also playing a nice contrast (color and texture) with the other beads.
These earrings are made using the eye loop technique.

- Agate beads (teardrop)
- Glass beads with gold leaf (lampwork, 8 mm)
- Resin beads (5 mm )
- Swarovski bicones tiny (3 mm )
Findings:
- Ball posts with drops earstuds
- Head and eye pins
- Bead caps
- Basic tools
How-To
- Follow the wire technique and:
- Make dangles with swarovski bicones.
- String on an eye pin: a bead cap ( antique gold), a blue resin bead, a bead cap and make a loop.
- Attach all the components together.
Quick tips: For this project:
Ball posts with drops earstuds have been chosen on purpose so the earring is close to the ear lobe.
Resins have been embellished by two simple bead caps. Even though they are only craft findings, relatively inexpensive, they give a nice finished look to the earrings. I use them a lot!
In general:
Have your tools nearby by during your jewelry making project: a round nose plier, a flat nose plier, glue, scissors, cutter.
Have a good working light and a comfortable chair.
