  • Take the right cord and go under the left cord, make a loop going over the left cord, over the right cord and under the pink cord as you can see in the video.

This Chinese knot, the Korean call it "Dorae Maedeup "is made with with two overhands tied into one other.

This knot is extremely steady and strong and aesthetically beautiful with its simple X shape.

  • Take your cork board, pins and 2 pieces of cords ( big size to start) in different colors so you will see the X.
  • Tie the 2 cords together with a knot and put a pin on it.
  • Here we have a black (left) and a pink (right) cords. You can put a pin on the bottom of the right cord.
  • Take theft cord and follow my hand's movement making a loop to an overhand knot.
  • Then take the left cord, again follow my gesture and make a loop and the second overhand knot.

    • Unpin and the reshape double coin knot always following the cord's path.

    Phoenix Tail Knot

The phoenix tail looks has a flatted shape, different from the snake knot which is more rounded.

    • Now, make a loop with the right cord, use the left cord to make a loop around the left cord and under itself. Pull the left cord tight.
    • The key for the phoenix tail knot is to keep cords aligned.
    • Now, make a loop with the left cord and insert it in the right loop.
    • Pull tight and repeat.
