Glass-Pearls
Design Ideas

We love designing with glass pearls, especially the high quality one from Swarovski which have a crystal core with a super shiny finish.
They are also called " faux pearl". Faux means false in French.

In other word, they look like real pearl but are not real one. These versatile beads can be mixed with wood, gemstones, craft or higher quality findings.

We are happy to share with you few design ideas.

❋ For the earrings, we wanted to play with

  • contrasting finishes: Rough wood, craft chain and shiny faux pearl and sparking Swarovski rondelles.
Here, we did not make our own hooks as we do most of the time but we used Balinese silver earwires.
  • Flowers repetition : Flowers are repeated twice.
Look at the hooks, they have a small flower on it. The crystal rondelles used as bead caps for the wood and the glass pearl have flower shapes.
The idea was to get a fancy look using some classic elements.
Pearl, freshwater or "faux pearl" has a classy and timeless style.

❋ The pendant is made with a mother of pearl donut, a "faux pearl" and charm birds with a matt gold finish.

The idea was to give a delicate, romantic style to this necklace using soft , "quiet" colors.

The birds look like doves and the dove symbolizes purity, simplicity, harmony, peace, hope! Nice gift idea!

Birds are glued on the donut, the collage technique is very simple and yet makes unique costume jewelry!
3 cords in gold, antique gold and silver finish are attached to this pendant and attached to clasp with a cord tip.

❋ The leaf necklace is made with wood, glass and grey faux pearls.

Again the idea was to play with contrasting and opposite material in grey and brown shades.
A touch of light is brought with the yellow silk thread and the glass beads. They are brought here in "homeopathic" doses but still add joy, life and fun to this necklace!

❋ The bracelet is made with grey glass pearls and one white for a contrasting effect.

The beads here are embellished with craft bead caps and the bracelet is string with wire thread.
Instead of finishing it with a classic clasp, we have finished this jewelry with two loops.
A velvet ribbon is inserted inside the loops and is used to attach the bracelet.
For a fun touch, we have added two big shell beads and little mother of pearl bird charms to finish the bracelet.
A cord tip is used as a link between the ribbon and the shell beads.

˜Enjoy!˜
