This "sautoir" called "leaf-necklace" because of its drop pendant finished by a coco and a grey glass tube bead.
Nature has always been a great inspiration for craftsman and among them jewelry makers.
The jewelry market offers a huge choice of flower, leaf designs for beads, gemstones, charms, pendants, clasps…
We have decided to finish this long necklace with a leaf coco drop for different reasons:
First of all, these leaves are made from coco bark so it is a recycled product! They are very eco oriented!
Although, it has a rough aspect, you feel like you are already at the beach when you touch it! You can see yourself being in a tropical paradise!
For this necklace, we wanted to play with contrasting material and colors.
The idea was to see how we could mix elegant, shiny and soft grey glass beads with a rough coco pendant!
The yellow color that you can see in the Czech glass beads and the silk thread are contrasting with the coco leaf, the wood beads and the glass Swarovski faux pearls, all in dark colors.
This is casual necklace, perfect to wear on a spring or summer day.
Through this design, we wanted to show how we used what we call the fancy knotting technique. Basically, you leave a 2 or 3 cm of thread in between each bead or group of beads.
Another leaf necklace design is very trendy and from what we saw it is a small leaf attached to a thin chain.
It is more discrete. You can leave your necklace simple or add a touch of color, a trendy color or your favorite one.
Here is an example. Look at the first picture, it shows a pendant made with a metal leaf, tags and green cabochons and beads. We made it when the green color was so trendy to show how easy it is to make your own fashion jewelry! and the leaf is a simple
metal charm!
As easy as 1-2-3 with a fun and creative spirit!
