What can you do with a polymer-clay-bead?

All sort of jewelry from class to fancy one.
Polymer is plastic, it can be found in all craft store as a pliable clay. When you put your bead (or any thing else) in an oven it then is fused into permanent plastic.
It is not only for kids, you can really make amazing beads like imitation of Venetian millefiori beads with a good practice of cane making for example.

If you don't want to make them, you can buy them. The market offers beads in incredible colors and patterns: millefiori of course but also animal patterns ( zebra), flowers, human faces, awareness ribbon…
As they are handmade, everything is possible, any type of color combination! Sky the timid for our delight!

Now, a polymer-clay-bead has unique particularities:

• it is extremely lightweight and we must say it is one of the good reason we like to use it: you feel comfortable wearing a necklace, a bracelet or earrings made with lightweight beads!
  In our everyday's life, we personally like to wear easy to wear and comfortable jewelry!

If you scroll down, you will see amazing beads made with polymer clay. They are expensive but beautiful! Nevertheless, it is possible to find handmade polymer clay items at a very reasonable price.

• You can make complete different styles with the same bead: The picture here shows what we call "girly" earrings with the pink cotton cord. They are cute for young girls.

  Look at the last picture : We have proposed another pattern and color combination.
  With the little flower glass beads, they look suddenly more elegant and discrete.

  
  Here we have mixed, Swarovski bicones in light blue and beige tones, black and pink glass beads and light blue, beige, black and pink millefiori bead!

  Note that we made for this design our own earwires, all these beads can be bought for a reasonable price and you can make these earrings in a snap!

  You will need
  

  • A beautiful bead,
  • Earwires,
  • cord tips,
  • crimp beads,
  • tigertail,
  • leather cord
  • Swarovski crystal bicones,
  • Your tools.

  How To

  For one earring
  

  • Decide the length of your earring design.
  • Cut 2 pieces of thin cord ( leather, cotton…), attach them together with 1 crimp tip.
  • Attach the earwire to the crimp tip, make one knot.
  • String on the polymer clay bead and make one knot.
  • Make few bead dangles: we used here some stringing wire and finish the tails with a knot.
    You can also make bead dangles with head pins.
