Here are polymer-clay-ideas for fun and colorful jewelry making.

Here, you can see how to make simple polka dots beads.
They are made only with polymer clay. You can also mix the clay with natural pigments for unusual and deep colors.

Once a bead base is made, you can apply with caution seed beads in different colors and sizes. As you can see in the pictures, there are different patterns. Again, you can imagine hundreds of patterns or color combinations!

We have made the base beads in black but you can made them in any color.
For us, using a dark color helps to "bring out" the seed beads.
These beads are used to pop up a bead pattern.
We use flower beads a lot because they add so much life in a pattern, they really light up a jewelry!

You can make a necklace for example with these beaded beads space out with these beaded beads in the same (or different) color.

If you look at the black and white beads, you can imagine a necklace made with different sizes of beads using 11°, 6 or 8°. You could make "organic" beads with freeform shapes and string them on a cotton or leather cord for example. Cool and simple and in black and white, it is quite elegant!

Another idea:
As you know like using buttons to make jewelry. You could make an half bead and use it as a cabochon.
Embellish this center piece with small 11° seed beads. With simple beading techniques, you can add leaves, picots and make a really nice flat beaded flowers.

  • Clay ( Fimo, Sculpley, Kato…),
  • seed beads in different colors and sizes,
  • a skewer, awl, sticks,
  • oven.

How To

  • Make a base bead.
  • When your base bead is finished, wrap it in a plastic paper and leave it a few minutes in the fridge; it will get "firmer".
  • Then, add some seed beads on it following a pattern. To do so, use an awl or a little stick.
