If you wish to make a ribbon-necklace, here is an idea…
This "opera" necklace is done in two parts: the necklace itself (28 to 70 cms) and a butterfly tassel pendant.
We used ribbons of course, all types of ribbons: organza, satin, metal and plastic beads. As you know we like to make jewelry with plastic beads: They are lightweight and truth be told when embellished them with bead caps, they can get a very sophisticated look!
Elegant and inexpensive, what more should we ask for?
If you scroll down, you will see a bead pattern made with different blue beads.
Actually, blue (sky blue, midnight blue, baby blue ) is a classy color for spring and especially this spring/summer 2011.
For example, this season, Sky blue is paired with neutral beige, black, midnight blue deep dark brown, bronze shades or even orange!
To feel comfortable, chic and "a` la mode" during this summer, we made a lightweight necklace in blue, beige, grey and bronze shades.
If you wish to make a long necklace with beads spaced out here and there, it is even simpler to make than this "butterfly necklace": all you need to do is choose light beads ( so they can support the ribbons) and glue their holes neatly. You can finish it with a knot.
As easy as 1-2-3 with a fun and creative spirit!
Let's go back to our ribbon-necklace.
As you can see in the different pictures the necklace itself is made with 3 different "bead patterns", all in the same shades of blue, beige and bronze: we've got organdy and satin ribbons strung with small metal beads, chain and plastic beads enhanced with bronze bead caps and satin ribbons in light and dark grey strung with dark blue plastic beads.
Let's see now how to make it…
˜Enjoy!˜
