You can make different types of sea-shell-crafts.
As this website is dedicated to easy custom jewelry making, we will "discuss" only about making jewelry with shells or mother of pearl.
Let's start by the simplest: you can just pick up nice (dead) shells on the beach and make a jewelry.
For example, look at the first picture here, these earrings are made with cowries.
They are really made in a snap!
I made them for summer but actually, I wear them all the time. They can match any outfit.
You can also buy shell beads ( whole beads, drilled or not or, cut pieces of natural shells), very popular for making "beach" or "surfer" types of necklaces or bracelets.
Here are different design ideas made with nacre
Nacre is made from the inner shell layer and comes in different colors such as black lip, brown lip, golden lip, white, red or pink
You can find different shapes and sizes for pendants, cute little dangles or charms often called fetishes (birds, hearts, moon) and of course plenty of leaves and flower designs!
If you look at the last picture here, you will see a bracelet made with faux pearls, shell beads and a tiny bird fetish to finish the jewelry.
If you scroll down here, you will see different types of design ideas that we are happy to share with you.
These sea-shell-crafts are all pendant ideas made with mother of pearl.
You can buy them already drilled.
The first pendant has a drop shape and we played here with the repetition concept through the shape of the pendant and the pink gemstone (gig and small drops), color repetition also through the pink and green carved flower and bead gemstones.
The second one is the round pendant.
The idea here was to work with autumnal, earthy shades embellish with a "faux fur "button which reminds winter clothes.
The third one has two flat flower beads glued on it string with seed beads in the same colors.
The last one is a donut with flat rings and charms glued on it and attached with a cord using the lark's head technique.
