Using Sequins As Spacer Beads

Tradionally, sequins are used for embroidery. They are flat, lightweight and come indifferent shapes and colors.
Here, they are used as spacer beads (usually round or square flat metal beads seated between beads, can add a sparking and delicate touch to your design.
They are relatively inexpensive and can be found in all craft shops.
The colors used for this necklace are: grey, brown silk thread and glass beads, cornaline gemstones flowers and silver-grey "spacer beads". This repetitive pattern is easy to make.
The idea here is to design long necklace with flat flower "spacer bead".
If you want to make it, you will need:

Supplies

• Barrel and round beads, in different colors and sizes; cornaline flowers

• Sequins

• clasp, jump rings, head pins
• Supplies for the knotting technique: bead tips, silk thread and an awl.
• Pliers for wire jewelry making

How-To

• The technique used here is the knotting technique.
• The pattern is simple: leave 2 or 3 cms of silk thread, make a knot, string few flat spacer beads, a barrel, few spacer beads and make a knot.
• You can put randomly "bead dangles".
• Repeat
• Finish your necklace using the finishing technique with thread with a nice clasp

Quick tips.

Don't leave to much space between each beads( 2 to 4 cms ).
This is a repetitive pattern with lightweight beads. You can make multiple strands, just change the color of the thread and beads.
Your tools need to be always close by during your jewelry making project: a round nose plier, a flat nose plier, glue, scissors, cutter.
Have a good working, light and a comfortable chair.
