Shell charms are made different ways: treasures from the sea such as cockle, olive,cone snail... are cleaned, drilled or framed , or a thin inner layer (inside the carapace) called nacre or mother of pearl is cut and carved. Fetish or zuni fetishes ( when made by the Zuni Indians) are often made in mother of pearl. You can find beautiful animal, flower,leaf shapes.
These natural beauties have always inspired craftsmen and the "jewelry making market" offers a big choice of " sea charming dangles" in different sizes, shapes and finishes.

So let's see how to make these earrings

Supplies

• Beads
• Mother of pearl flat and bird beads
• Small 3 mm black glass beads
• Flat small black "rondelle" (this one is plastic)
• Findings
• Head pins
• Crimp beads
• light gauge beading wire (stainless steel)
• Glue
• Pliers

How To

• First glue the little black rondelle on the flat mother of pearl bead. Let it dry few hours.
• Take an eye pin and string a black bead, the bird,the black bead and make your own earwire
• Make a bead dangle and don't forget to attach the beading wire to the earwire.

Et voilà!
